Job Role

To ensure the provision of a high-quality financial accounting service that supports the effective and efficient management of company financial resources, within statutory and regulatory guidelines.
To work within the finance team supporting accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and processes, and internal/external reporting requirements
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Finance manager to maintain procurement and suppliers’ contracts and reports, and prepare related financial reports for management review
  • Banking and Cash flow
  • Completing account reconciliations to review and clear balance sheet control accounts on a monthly basis, including Tax’s & payroll accounts, and maintaining appropriate documentation to support the audit
  • Delivery of the monthly close process, analyzing transactions and preparing required journals
  • Ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records, ensuring all income and liabilities are accurately recorded, reconciled and reviewed
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver statutory reports, publications, internal & external audits, and annual financial report and accounts within agreed timetables
  • Preparation of taxation return workings and associated reconciliations
  • Prepare the monthly finance team performance indicators and transparency publications for review
  • Providing support, assistance and cover across the wider Finance team to manage team absences and peak periods, which may include hands on support and/or managing additional financial responsibilities and staff.

Education

Bachelor Degree in Accounting

Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar business
  • Post graduate study in finance e.g. CFA, ACCA, CPA, CMA is a plus
  • Detailed knowledge of financial accounting processes and approaches 
  • Understanding of the role of a regulator and approaches to regulation

Job specific Skills:

  • Excellent financial management, administration & record keeping skills
  • Experience developing financial operational systems and schedules
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • The ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Strong analytical, financial reporting, and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of financial regulations adhering to charities, and proven experience of book-keeping
  • Judgment & the ability to work with others
  • Able to proactively set up systems within a growing organization
  • Commitment to team-working, and respect and consideration for the skills of others 
  • Self-motivated, pro-active
