Product Localization Lead 1

Job Description summary
As the Product Engineering & Homologation Lead, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of plant products, from initial specification identification to engineering release & Engineering part lists maintenance as well as regulatory compliance. You will serve as the primary liaison between the plant, and cross-functional engineering groups, ensuring seamless execution of product changes locally and globally.
Additionally, you will lead regulatory affairs, type approvals, and certifications for vehicles and components, ensuring compliance with governmental and international standards
Key responsibilities include:
Product Engineering
- Change Management: Oversee the Engineering Change Management Process for vehicle parts across the organization.
- Engineering projects Management: Plan, manage, and monitor engineering activities, localization, pilot builds, and production schedules.
- Program Readiness: Lead Engineering Product Development Team deliverables
- Technical Leadership: Act as the technical focal point for communication with OEMs, ensuring alignment on product specifications and requirements.
- Parts List Management: Transform Master Parts Lists (MPL) into Engineering Parts Lists (EPL), Knock Down Parts Lists (KDPL), and Supply Parts Lists (SPL) for CKD vehicles.
- Cross-functional Support: Provide technical expertise to Product Localization, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Program Management, Finance, Sales, Service, and Marketing teams.
Regulatory & Product Homologation
- Regulatory Compliance: Lead the regulatory process for CKD programs to Ensure all products meet MMM Egypt and export market regulatory requirements compliant with Governmental requirements.
- Regulations Monitoring: Review and communicate regulatory updates to OEMs, assessing their impact on vehicle design and compliance.
- Homologation Management: Secure vehicle and component approvals from source plants for assembling vehicles parts for local and export markets
- Standards Development: Assist in creating internal standards and processes for certification.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide recommendations to senior management on current and future legislative requirements and their implications.
Technical Public Policy
- Industry Collaboration: Represent the company’s interests with peers in local automakers and government entities, ensuring compliance with emissions and vehicle regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with regulatory authorities to enhance the MMM reputation as a trusted partner.
Education/Experience:
- B.Sc. in Engineering, preferably in Production, Automotive, Industrial or Mechanical, Electrical Engineering.
- 4+ Years of experience in Automotive industry is preferable.
- 2+ years of experience in product certifications/homologation is a plus.
Skills/Job Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Background in Manufacturing, Design, or product development.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with experience in quantitative and data analysis.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, presentation
- Language: Written/spoken Arabic & English skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project); familiarity with Python and Power BI is a plus.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects, work under pressure, and navigate ambiguity.
