Summary

Prepares accurate repair estimates for accident and body & paint jobs by assessing vehicle damage, identifying required parts, labour and paint, and building quotations for customers and insurance companies, supporting fast approval and profitable repair.

Tasks

  • Prepare repair estimate documents and supporting files using the estimating software and DMS, including photos and parts lists.
  • Follow MAG and insurer procedures for estimating, labour rates, paint material calculation and approval limits.
  • Process accident repair files for insurance and cash customers, ensuring photos, reports and approvals are complete before work starts.
  • Inspect accident vehicles on arrival to identify visible and hidden damage, and flag suspected structural or safety issues to the workshop.
  • Prepare accurate quotations covering parts (from the electronic parts catalogue), labour hours, paint and materials, and issue supplementary estimates when hidden damage is found.
  • Work with service advisors, the workshop and insurance surveyors to agree estimates and resolve differences quickly.

    • Education

    Technical institute diploma in automotive or mechanics.

    Experience

    2-4 years of experience in body & paint repair or estimating.
